When you go head out exploring the area, you are bound to notice the varied landscape.

Nature in the Lauwersmeer is so special that the area has been designated a National Park.

At Lauwersoog you will find several beaches.

Perfect for those hot days! If you prefer to go sailing, you can rent a boat at various places.

Or go on a day trip to the Wadden Island Schiermonnikoog.

You can get there in no time by ferry.

In the evening when darkness falls, a new experience awaits.

At the Lauwersmeer, it is really dark.

You can stargaze fantastically from one of the special watchtowers.
