Holidays in the Rauris Valley - it's "so real!"
The Rauris Valley at around 950 m above sea level is spectacular. There is no need for putting oversized adventure parks in the landscape - this valley, in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park, has all that already.
Rauris is called the "hidden jewel" of the National Park, which is proven by the following natural features: In addition to lush alpine pastures and glaciers, the centuries-old Rauris primeval forest, with protected and awarded gems, as well as the Rauriser Urquell are impressive places. Over 300 precious springs, mighty waterfalls, and ice-cold mountain streams bear witness to the region's abundance of water.
In addition to all the natural treasures, there is also real treasure to be found: Gold was mined here until the last century, and rumour has it that up to 120 tonnes of the precious metal still lie dormant in the mountains.
Your hut holiday - really cosy & really charming
You start your day in the Rauris Valley with a view of the famous Sonnblick. The overwhelming mountain panorama works its magic at the sunny breakfast table, and only the gentle ringing of the cowbells brings you back to the here & now. Just as well, because countless hiking and mountain biking tours, for example to the Stanzalm, Mitterastenalm and the Stubai Valley, are waiting for you.
Stanzalm, Mitterastenalm
Lercheggalm
Along the Kolm Saigurn High Route or to the Niedersachsenhaus
Come back to a cosy home
Your charming alpine hut is truly cosy. The owners have spared no expense and effort to make this wonderful hut shine for Almliesl guests. Wood dominates here. The creaky wooden floor and the massive ceiling up to the open gallery provide real ambience. The large tiled stove and the homely living room add to the cosiness.
Let these hut highlights inspire you:
Traditional wood-burning stove for cooking and heating
Decorated with original Gmunden ceramics
High-quality spice selection for the guests
Spacious, well-maintained garden & furnished terrace
Well basin with best Rauris mountain water of drinking water quality
A relaxed barbecue evening should be on the agenda after a long day in nature. Depending on your preferences, you can use a gas grill or a charcoal grill. You can get the right barbecue food and many more delicacies at the shop "Kathrins Laden". The owners of the hut run the popular Gasthof Andrelwirt inn in the valley, about 8 km away. Come by and enjoy the inn’s regional specialities.
Tip: The hosts recommend a visit to the "Valley of the Vultures" - in the Krumltal valley. The kings of the skies circle here. So: don't forget to bring binoculars.
Note: The open gallery (dormitory) is not sufficiently safe to protect from falling, and is therefore in particular not suitable for small children.
