About this space
The Old Forge is right in the centre of town, making it easy to plan your visit to Portsmouth. This unique space has been renovated into a 2 bedroom house with parking for 2 cars and a sunny courtyard . The Old Forge was originally a Coach House to The Old Vic Pub built in 1899 before becoming a foundry in the 1950’s hence it’s name. Just a few minutes walk to shops, restaurants and bars and only a 10 minute walk to the seafront , this characteristic property has it all right on your door step!
The space
The Old Forge was sold by the brewery in 1998 and renovated by the current owners to become a residential dwelling. A quirky upside down house, on the top floor there is a huge open plan lounge, dining area, a fully equipped kitchen and sunny courtyard with seating area. Downstairs, one bedroom with a king size and the main bedroom boasting a Californian Queen bed! 2 car parking spaces just outside the property and a car park opposite for any visitors.
Guest access
This property is in an amazing location, right in the hustle and bustle of the city centre so a prime spot in the beautiful city of Portsmouth putting guests within easy reach of popular annual events including Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Great South Run and Victorious music festival.
Within easy walking distance of the University of Portsmouth & Less than 1 mile to HM Naval Base, Portsmouth
Plenty of transport links nearby, including Portsmouth & Southsea train station and the ferry port.
Walking distance to the seafront, the shops, Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth Uni, The Dockyard and 2 minutes walk to coffee shops, bars and restaurants .
Some other local attractions are Canoe Lake, South Parade Pier, Southsea Model Village and the Southsea Rose Garden.
In the other direction along the seafront there is Southsea Castle, The D-Day Story, Blue Reef Aquarium, Southsea Splash Pool, Pyramids Centre, Common and tennis courts are all close by also.
If shopping is your thing there are plenty of popular independent shops and boutiques in the areas of Palmerston Road, Marmion Road and Albert Road.

This property sits next door to a Lebanese restaurant with the garden just outside one of the bedroom windows . In the summer there can be some noise if the bedroom window is left open .
