Resting on the outskirts of the Cranborne Chase AONB in the market town of Wimborne Minster, Dorset is The Cottage.
This delightful single-storey cottage welcomes up to six guests across two bedrooms as well as your canine companion and boasts a bright, airy and contemporary decor, making it a wonderful setting for families or friends looking to explore Dorset’s coast and countryside.
Set in a peaceful location, it’s ideal for unwinding and soaking up the sounds of nature.
After a busy day meandering through the countryside or exploring nearby Canford Heath Nature Reserve, which offers scenic walks and views out to Poole Bay, return to the living/dining room and snuggle up on one of the plush sofas while the Smart TV plays a family favourite in the background.
Stay warm and cosy and watch as the designated chef whips up a tasty meal in the fully-equipped kitchen to be enjoyed at the dining table with seating for the whole group.
Outside, you’ll find shared access to a spacious paddock dotted with oak trees and woodland, a perfect spot for dog walks or a bit of quiet deer- or owl-spotting.
Thanks to low light pollution, stargazing here is excellent too. There’s even a shared outdoor tap for washing muddy boots and paws, and guests can make use of the shared tennis courts on site.
The enclosed and gated garden offers a high degree of privacy and peace of mind for parents with small children and pet owners. After a fun filled day exploring the nearby coast or countryside, retire to either of the bedrooms; there is a king-size room with en-suite bathroom and a king-size zip and link for flexibility which is serviced by a sleek shower room, both are furnished with plenty of storage and there is also a sofa bed for two guests in the living room.
Be sure to get some well-earned rest before another fun-filled day. The Cottage is within proximity to a range of amenities, including a local shop to ease your self-catered stay and the Willett Arms which is a local pub with a rustic setting serving pub fare and ales, perfect for an evening out. Wimborne itself offers a great choice of coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, independent shops and a supermarket, and both Chinese and Indian takeaways can be found close by. The coastal town of Bournemouth with its stunning stretches of golden sands is under ten miles away and is an idyllic setting for a day in the sun; visit Oceanarium with a variety of marine ecosystems, underwater tunnels and feeding sessions or have fun at Bournemouth Pier Amusements which is full of arcade games.
Thrill seekers can zip wire over the pier or visit RockReef which houses a rock-climbing wall, ropes course and cave themed tunnels.
The town of Poole is also just a short drive away and boasts its own quay, beach and Country Park.
Choose The Cottage as the base for your next Dorset adventure.

Fantastic accommodation, everything we needed for a wonderful week. The owner, Dawn, was very approachable and extremely helpful. The property was clean and well equipped and within easy reach of both Bournemouth and Poole in addition to beautiful Wimborne Minster. We hope to return next year.

Lovely spacious accommodation in a lovely quiet area! The hosts were super responsive and helpful. However, the coffee machine hasn’t been cleaned and has several coffee pods jammed inside which we managed to get out, there was no salt or pepper and only one blanket in the property.

A lovely clean and spacious cottage. We were travelling with a little one with severe allergies and the owners worked hard to make the cottage clean and safe for our stay. We loved being out in the countryside and watching the squirrels play in the trees each morning. We hope to return sometime. Thanks very much.
