This detached, stone farm house lies in a quiet spot within the hamlet of Wennington, close to the historic market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, just north of the Forest of Bowland AONB.
With space for up to ten guests, Box Tree Farm is an idyllic retreat for families and friends, providing easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Park.
Pass through the gated entrance and park directly outside the property before unloading your bags within the country style kitchen/diner, popping the kettle on for a brew round.
Here you’ll find all the necessities for a week-long break; including an electric range cooker standing proudly, an American style fridge/freezer, microwave and even a dishwasher so washing up will be no trouble.
Move through to the lounge, boasting a cosy ambiance with low ceilings, exposed beams, sash windows and a carpeted floor, here you can relax upon the leather sofas as you catch up on your favourite shows.
The first of the bedrooms is positioned on the ground floor, offering a king-size bed and a stylish en-suite shower, perfect for those with limited mobility.
Climb the stairs to reveal the remaining bedrooms, including the family room with king-size bed and bunk beds, sleeping up to four guests, plus one sumptuous king-size room and a twin with plush furnishings and wall-mounted TVs, perfect for late movie nights.
Soothe your muscles with a lazy soak in the bathroom, before grabbing a warm towel from the rail and getting yourself ready for the day. To the exterior of Box Tree Farm, discover the alluring hot tub resting under a covered area, providing the perfect way to relax following a day of exploring.
From the door there are plenty of delightful bike rides and walks through beautiful scenery,or spend the day in Kirkby Lonsdale, discovering a historic market town, home to multiple high-class eateries and boutique shops.
Ingleton is just a short drive away, boasting a collection of shops and traditional old pubs nestled around the market square, and there’s even an open-air heated swimming pool during the summer months.
Hop on board the Settle-Carlisle Railway and take a trip through spectacular limestone scenery and over rugged landscapes, whilst a few miles to the south lies the Forest of Bowland, home to gritstone fells, deep valleys and peat moorland, providing a real haven for any outdoor enthusiasts.

Box Tree Farm is a detached stone cottage nestled in Wennington near Bentham, Yorkshire. Hosting four bedrooms, including a family room with king-size and bunk beds with en-suite shower and three king-size rooms, one with en-suite shower, plus a bathroom and cloakroom, this property can sleep up to ten guests. There is also a kitchen/diner and a sitting room. To the outside is a patio with hot tub and off-road parking for 2 cars. Box Tree Farm is a lovely escape, perfect for a family getaway amidst the great outdoors, whatever time of year. This property has an on-site paddle court which can be booked at an additional cost.
What is Padel?
Padel is a fast, social racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash.
It’s usually played as doubles, making it easy to pick up and great fun with friends, family or colleagues. You don’t need to be an experienced racket-sport player to enjoy it — beginners can get involved quickly, while more experienced players still have plenty to master.
It’s active, competitive, sociable and seriously addictive.
The Court
A padel court is 20m x 10m and surrounded by glass and mesh walls.
Like tennis, the aim is to hit the ball over the net into your opponent’s side of the court. The difference is that the walls are part of the game, so once the ball has bounced, it can be played off the glass — a bit like squash.
That’s what makes padel so different, and so much fun.
How the Game Works
Scoring is similar to tennis, with points played at 15, 30, 40 and game, usually over the best of three sets.
Serves are underarm and must bounce before being hit. During a rally, the ball can bounce once before being returned, and the glass walls can be used to keep the point alive.
You win the point when your opponents can’t return the ball legally before it bounces twice.

Staye for the easter holidays with 2 grandchildren, had a lovely stay house could do with some improvements, handle on toilet door just comes off in your hand. 1st night we couldnt get the heating to work. Ian came out the next day to sort it out. We still had a lovely stay.

An excellent property in an amazing location, quiet but close enough to amenities if needed. It has everything you need in abundance, there wasn't anything we couldn't find if we needed it. I would highly recommend this property to family and friends and will definitely be looking at booking it again in the future, a real 10 out of 10 place.
