Welcome to this stunning 50m2 Scandinavian-styled lodge, providing you with the most amazing getaway. Our lovely Eco Lodge is nestled in the stunning Constable Country with a lovely, private pond view setting

• 1 Bedroom with 2 Twin beds (can be king bed if requested)

• Bi-fold doors open to a large wrap-around terrace with outdoor furniture (seating for 4)

• Wood-burning fireplace with an initial supply of firewood

Ideally located in the serene Suffolk countryside and just a few steps away from East Bergholt and Flatford (where the famous artist John Constable's painted the famous HayWain picture in 1821) our stunning Scandinavian-inspired “Orwell Lodge” is the perfect base for your next relaxing getaway!
The Lodge has been thoughtfully finished with high-quality furnishings and has underfloor heating throughout.
Bedrooms:
• Each bedroom has bedside tables with lamps and a chest of drawers.
• 1st bedroom has a Double bed
• 2nd bedroom has twin beds (can be made into king size bed if requested)
Living Area:
• Full height expansive bi-fold doors delivering a unique indoor/outdoor living experience
• Comfortable sofa and seating for 4
• Beautiful, modern, and high-efficiency wood-burning fireplace
• Dining table with seating for 4
• Large wall-mounted Smart TV
Kitchen
• Fully equipped kitchen with; a fridge, dishwasher, electric cooker, induction cooktop, and a coffee machine
Bathroom
• Accessible from the living area
• large walk-in shower
• Electric Towel rail to keep your towels warm
Utility / boot room
• Accessible from the terrace area this has a laundry washing machine, separate freezer, iron/ironing board, and vacuum cleaner. It’s also perfect for storing your countryside coats and footwear.
Pet friendly:
• We’re pleased to confirm we’re pet friendly and can accommodate up to 2 small/medium-sized pets for £50 per pet, per stay (maximum 2 pets)
Welcome / Starter pack includes
• milk/tea/coffee, bath towel/sheets, bedlinen included, dishwasher tablet/fairy liquid, laundry detergents, hand soaps, toilet paper, dish clothes, bin bags, salt/pepper/sugar
logs/firelighters for the wood burner. Further supplies of firewood can be purchased at the local Co-op store of Fields Farm Shop.
So much to see and do:
Numerous walks and hikes are at your doorstep allowing you to visit many local pubs and cafes. There are also endless sightseeing adventures available within just a short drive away. Some ideas: (we provide a full guide when you book)
Outdoor Activities:
• Enjoy an endless selection of country walks in the stunning local "Constable Country" including many along the River Stour via Flatford Mill just 5 mins walk away.
• Rent a rowing boat from Flatford and row yourself along the river to Dedham.
Local Dining:
• Enjoy lunch, tea, coffee and cake at Oranges & Lemons Shop and Cafe, a 7-minute walk away.
• Visit many of the local Pubs, cafes and Restaurants including The Lion Brasserie, Carriers Arms, Hare and Hounds
• Some great local Farm shops & Delis including Fields Farm shop & Cafe & Hall Fram both just a 5 min drive away.
Places to see:
• Large local Market Town of Ipswich with its bustling Marina
• Beautiful Coastal Market Towns including Aldeburgh, Woodbridge and Southwold
• Day trips to London: trains from Manningtree Station take as little as an hour to get to London
• Cambridge is also less than an hour's drive or train ride away. Get a guide to Punt you down the River and learn the history of Cambridge and its universities.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
• If you require a travel cot and high chair please notify us of this at the time of your booking
• There are sockets on the outside of the lodge that can be used as a charging point for electrical cars
• Please note that barbecues are not allowed, we apologize for the inconvenience
• All lodges are strictly non-smoking lodges, there is a £500 cleaning surcharge if smoking inside the lodge is detected. Smoking outside is at your discretion, please ensure your cigarette/cigar butts are carefully disposed of
• Please let us know if you would like to bring a pet and we will do our best to accommodate them for £50/pet/stay (maximum 2 pets). Please keep your dogs on lead using the dog hook in the middle of the grass
• Please respect our neighbours as sound carries in such a quiet setting. We request that any outside talking/entertaining moves inside your lodge by 23:00.
• We are pleased to provide host and guest liability and damage protection! Upon booking, you will receive a secure link to complete a virtual check-in through a guest portal
