No smoking inside the property. 1 small step to entrance.. Dating back to 1860, this large Victorian property enjoys views over the surrounding fields towards Butterley Reservoir and Pentrich, and has been beautifully furnished to provide holiday accommodation of a very high standard.
Adjoining the owner’s home – which formerly served as the Vicarage – it has a games room with full-size snooker table, pool table, professional table football, as well as outdoor table tennis.
A fine base for touring the Peak District – lying in an area offering a wealth of attractions for visitors. For those with a penchant for shopping, there are many factory shops in the area, including McArthurGlen Designer outlet, RAB outdoor clothing outlet, De Bradelei Mill Shop at Belper, Armstrongs Mill Shop at Ilkeston.
There are Farmers’ and regular Weekly markets in many of the nearby towns including Bakewell and Ashbourne.
Alton Towers, Britain’s premier theme park, is close by. Younger children will also enjoy Gullivers Kingdom and Matlock Farm Park at nearby Matlock. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the excellent facilities at Carsington Water, whilst Shipley Country Park has miles of meandering footpaths and bridleways.
At the Midland Railway Centre, transport enthusiasts can take in the nostalgia of the age of steam and travel through countryside for 7 miles.

The accommodation really is spacious, and that goes for the excellent games room too. The only exception is the dining area which may be a little cramped for a full party. We were lucky enough to be able to eat outdoors, the weather was so good. The owners are pleasant and helpful. Plenty of lovely countryside and interesting places within easy reach.

A very comfortable stay for our large family group. The games room was great for the one very wet day we had. I would also comment on the fact that each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom, or its own bathroom nearby, which is very useful.

We booked both the properties at this location for a family holiday and thoroughly enjoyed staying here. There is loads of space and it is well equipped and very comfortable.
