For the more active, the Plauer climbing forest invites you to take a tour in the treetops, while the old town centre with the town hall, the old church and the redesigned market invite you to take a stroll. The promenade along the River Elde, the lift bridge and the lock with its chicken ladder are also worth a visit, as are the castle festival and the Quetzin beach festival on the first weekend in August.
